When you’re moving something huge, like a seven-ton magnet for an MRI machine, you can’t exactly take the elevator. This fall when workers installed the MRI magnet on the fifth floor of the new Center for Care and Discovery, they used a giant crane to bring it in through a window. Sounds easy, right? At least these pictures make it look that way.

First, open a window on the fifth floor the hard way

Next, load it up on a giant crane (technically it’s 6.7 tons, but what difference is 600 pounds at this point)

Up it goes to the fifth floor

And through the window, like a glove
