Sexual Assault Victims’ Clothing Drive

The Mitchell Emergency Department Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners are asking for your help for our sexual assault victims. The clothing of sexual assault victims is often collected for evidence and we often send them home with paper scrubs, gown or donated clothing from the local YWCA after the exam.

The lack of clothing leaves the victims feeling more vulnerable in an already difficult situation, and so we need to provide them with fresh clothing to wear home or to a shelter to help them maintain their dignity.

We are in need of comfortable clothes in various sizes.  Since the clothes will be stored in a hospital environment, they need to be new but not necessarily expensive.

As part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, we will be collecting NEW ADULT clothing in the DCAM cafeteria on April 23rd and 24th from 10am-4pm.

These are the needed items:

NEW ADULT  medium/ large /x-large sweat pants

NEW ADULT  medium/large/x-large T-shirts

NEW ADULT  large/x-large underwear

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month   Please donate to comfort our sexual assault victims
